Queensland Weather Situation A trough extends over the interior of Queensland and is forecast to deepen and move eastwards over the weekend. A weak ridge extends along the east coast south of Cooktown. A high in the southern Tasman Sea will linger near New Zealand for several days, maintaining the ridge. The inland trough will retreat westwards early next week as the remnants of Ex-tropical Cyclone Tiffany approach far western Queensland from the west.
