Dell oem windows server 2008 r2 iso download

Someone on this forum suggested using the Dell chipset and driver pack. I downloaded the former, and when I run the executable on the server in the current WS config , it says the file is valid, but it's intended for a different machine type. Why does it say this? What's supposed to happen? Is it supposed to allow me to create a driver disk that I can use during OS installation? Although long ago, I used to be an MCSE, now I'm in a non-tech position and I'm the only person in our small office remotely capable of this task.

I'm getting a bit flustered. Any advice on the easiest way to achieve my goal would be greatly appreciated. It can't be that complicated. Personally, I would consider returning it. If you are downloading two images, then you are downloading the wrong one.

It simply says for installation on a new server only. It's the real deal. They say I have to back to Dell. I have done this many times with Windows 7 successfully.

OK, so you think this will work with Server ? I'll give it a whirl and let you know! Downloading the ISO now Step 4 says to delete the ei. That file does not exist in that folder or anywhere else.

I gues I'll ignore this step? The instructions given in the link above talk about running several commands in Admin mode, but these pertain to Win7. Any clues on what to use for Server R2? I was discussing the situation my disappointment with Dell with the guy that introduced me to Spiceworks and he said he could make me a copy of the Dell OEM disc from his original.

He did it, so I went that route. I never did get to try out Bill's plan lack of time. Thank you again for the huge effort on his part!! The Dannon Project is an IT service provider. Did you ever get the ISO? I'd be humble and thank you if you do :. Emmanuel Technology Consulting is an IT service provider. To continue this discussion, please ask a new question.
